Ingredients
1 lb. Apples peeled, cored and finely chopped
8 oz. Shredded suet
8 oz. Currants
12 oz. Sultanas
12 oz. Raisins
12 oz. Brown sugar
2 oz. Ground almonds
2 oz. Glace cherries finely chopped
2 teaspoons of mixed spice
1/2 teaspoon of grated nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
6 tablespoons of brandy
grated rind and juice of two oranges
grated rind and juice of two lemons



Method

Mix all the ingredients (except the brandy) together in a large bowl.

Cover with a cloth and leave for 12 hours.

Cook at gas mark 1/4, 225 f, 120 c for three hours.

Allow to cool to 21° or below and stir in the brandy.

Spoon into warm preserving jars.
